a quick rundown of the past 4 days
pubs - good if not great
not having proper fish and chips - worthy of being excommunicated
import beer finally being "domestic" - worthy of letting me back in the church (strongbow at nearly every establishment)
london zoo - take it or leave it, zoos are glorified barns anyways
field trip to the market - i'm glad i'm not a butcher or fish monger
london premeire of superman - where's spacey?
getting your cell phone stolen by lame italiam kids posing to be gay italian kids on the way to a pub - who let them win the world cup anyway?
british keyboards - who swith the @ with ""?
no pictures to post at this point - i'm lazy
waking up at 3:30am tomorrow to go to spain - the jury's still out on that one
walking about 6ish miles everyday and no blisters yet - knocking on wood
no A/C anywhere - that must be where the accents come from
1st day of class having been up 24 hours by the start of class - hell in a desk
the tube and the buses, well public transportation period - mass pandemonium is more like it
british myspace - still as bad as USA myspace
july 23, 2006
one would think that tmobile hot zones might pull through but apparently tmobile uk is on a completely different wavelength, my hope was to post some pictures but i sadly this post comes from a rather poorly ventilated internet "cafe" down finchley road
let's see where i left off:
foreign airports - where's my gate, oh wait i don't find out till 5 minutes before boardings, great!
finding a bus station in spain - panic! meanwhile meeting the CFO / head of legal for the louvre in paris, well worthy of getting a free ticket!
spain - hot hot hot but i got a tortilla (think more quiche than burrito)
avila - should more aptly be named: "really old walls jericho"
really old buildings with crazy sculptures as roofs - yeah, that'd be madrid
the british museum - big hot and free, rosetta stone - too many tourists to care
it being over 40C in the tube and busses - well that means back sweat and shooot just sweat in general, gross i know but at least this international student packed extra deodorant!
your professor buying everyone a pint at a pub following last week's fieldtrip - when's the next field trip???
going to bournemouth beach on friday - worthy of a wicked rad sunburn (many thanks to terrible aerosol sun cream (that's sun tan lotion to you states folks))
walking a mile to find the lift (elevator) up the cliff at the beach trying to leave - the girls made us do it!
getting completely lost after finding the lift was not working but kept walking in the wrong direction - see previous comment but replace "made us do it" with "fault"
going to the british open and sitting front row at the 18th green and watching throngs of people follow tiger - FOUR!!
alright, enough for now, england is still way too hot and still no one is getting A/C, they claim they don't need it cause it's only hot something like 4 days a year, i say heck it's been nearly 90 ever since i got here two weeks ago!!

as promised, some photos for you

well phase 1 of the journey has wrapped up and i have found myself on the 0700 train to edinburgh via way too many stops but the overly wicked sweet thing about this train is it's nerdiness to offer wifi, wahoo, so i blog, er..
an overview of london:
the underground - place where you see really weird people like men dressed as women and dudes with three thumbs and where friends get eye infections because of the pollution, and well overall dirty and it probably took 3 years off my life
the bus (well this could be included in the last blurb or with public transportation all together but for the amount of time i spent on the busses it deserves it's own entry) - a place where fights commonly break out over a dog sniffing another man's grocery bags, i swear the drivers are out to hit cyclists, there's enough body grease/funk on the windows to lube a bus axle for a month, generally over 100 degrees inside, two words: (terrible) body odor
tower of london - tourist trap
kings college - borderline prison issue rooms with very much prison issue food with noisy (drunk) italians and french to keep you company
the globe theatre - well who new in the middle of the play "under a black flag" an actor of the male nature would strip completely naked for the last chorus but at least jefferey from the fresh prince of bel air rounded out the cast, i'm pretty sure shakespeare is turning over in his grave
pubs - much more fun when you take your teacher and his wife out for an end of class celebration, that, and i'd be fine if i never tasted fosters again, well then there was walkabout pub which i thought was gay night, however, it was just the case of a lot of guys there..hmmmm
so there's the shortlist, round two of pictures will be coming in the next couple days whenever i get a more stationary internet connection (see that's funny because i'm on a train, er haha)
much love to all,
aaron
